Tell the new Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Secretary: Don’t Pave Over Our Parks

Despite receiving blowback from thousands of Floridians, Gov. Ron DeSantis said his so-called “Great Outdoors Initiative” was “going back to the drawing board,” signaling his intention to revive it. And now we know who will be doing his bidding: DeSantis just appointed Alexis Lambert, a state employee with virtually no environmental experience, to lead the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).

If there’s one thing every Floridian can agree on, it is that our state parks exist to protect our natural treasures, not provide resort amenities. People come to our state parks to relax and learn about the natural wonders of Florida, not see them paved over.

Urge DEP Secretary Lambert to reject any plan to pave over our beloved state parks. Feel free to customize the letter below (optional).
