Take Action: Protect Florida’s iconic Wakulla Springs

Wakulla Springs is one of the world’s largest and deepest springs, abundant in wildlife, and a critical part of the Floridan Aquifer, the source of drinking water for many Floridians. But the future of Wakulla Springs is in doubt. Algae and pollutants have harmed the spring, and now an out-of-state company is pushing to build a gas station with 16 pumps – along with a car wash and convenience store – immediately above one of the underground caves that feeds into Wakulla Springs. The site is currently designated for agricultural use only, and we need your help to make sure it stays that way.

Send the below letter to the Wakulla County Commission that urges them to protect Wakulla Springs for future generations by rejecting the zoning change which would allow constructions of this risky, unneeded gas station. Feel free to personalize your letter for greater impact.
