Conservatives have long wanted to want to make it illegal to leave your state to get abortion or gender affirming care, or to transport someone—particularly a young person—out of the state for it. But with some state and federal courts now stacked with conservative judges, conservative lawmakers are ramping up efforts to ban interstate travel for care.

In this episode of Boom! Lawyered, co-hosts Jessica Mason Pieklo and Imani Gandy break down efforts by conservative lawmakers in Idaho and Missouri to advance bills that would make it a felony to help another person leave the state to get an abortion or gender affirming care.

It’s a dangerous escalation in the attacks on reproductive health care, and Jess and Imani are here to walk you through it.
