Jacksonville women send message: Don't repeal the Affordable Care Act

The controversial nomination of Tom Price for Health and Human Services Secretary, along with Florida’s push to limit certain health care options for women, has some women concerned about what the future may hold for their families.

That's why the organization “For the Future” gathered a group of Jacksonville women to send a message to local leaders and Washington D.C: Don’t repeal the Affordable Care Act.

Dr. Valencia Brooks Dunbar remembers what it was like before the ACA. She was an entrepreneur uncertain about being able to afford health care.

“For a pre-existing condition I knew every day was a ticking time bomb, “ said Dr. Valencia Brooks Dunbar.

House Speaker Paul Ryan says the Trump Administration is working on a better health care system -- one with more choices. And he says nothing will happen until a replacement health care plan, that works, is created.
